These Large Orthopaedic Dog Beds measure 110 x 75 x 18 cm and are ideal for Labrador, Golden Retriever, Border Collie, Basset Hound, Boxer, Poodle, most Pointers, Setters and Vizslas or similar sized dogs.

Large Orthopaedic Dog Beds from Berkeley are made just like the very best quality beds for humans using a mix of traditional mattress making techniques and modern pocket spring technology.

The central pocket spring core provides a dynamic response to natural body movement and reacts intelligently to your dogs body contours to cushion vulnerable exposed joints such as hips and elbows.

Typically, there are around 220 individual springs in one of our mattresses each housed in a fabric pocket and all working independently of each other. This means that support is offered from the centre to the very edge of the mattress. 

It also creates a unique thermo-regulating air dam around the springs to improve insulation and breathability. Movement on the bed pushes air through the deep layers of natural fibre to help keep it fresh and dry and avoid overheating.

On either side of the pocket spring core are 4 deep layers of cotton-rich felt. This is the perfect material for the filling of a dog bed. It is naturally soft and springy, the fibres provide a breathable insulation that is warm in winter yet cool in summer and it has superb moisture-wicking qualities.

This main structure is then wrapped in lamb’s wool and compressed and tufted inside a tough zipped cotton drill inner bag. It will not  flatten, break down or clump up like inferior beds.

We then add a tough waterproof removable, washable and replaceable cover for enhanced protection.

Ultra-comfy and suitable for all dog breeds, they are particularly effective for dogs suffering from arthritis, hip dysplasia, joint and ligament complaints and all elderly dogs that may require extra support and comfort.

The multiple layer construction of our orthopaedic dog beds make them substantially heavier than rival products -around 9.5kg for our Large size - This has the added benefit of preventing the bed sliding around when your dog attempts to sit on it.
